Neil Gow is a Professor of Microbiology and, until 2023, was the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Impact at the University of ·¬ÇÑÊÓÆµ. His research focuses on life-threatening fungal diseases, addressing critical challenges such as diagnosis difficulties, the lack of vaccines, and limited treatment options. His research group works on the fungal cell wall, a unique target for immune recognition, ineractions with human cells and other microbes and antifungal drug design and drug resistance problems, and he is pioneering new approaches to combat fungal infections.
