Top 6 things to do when you move in:

• Complete the Room Condition Form (email copy or via the Home at Halls app) to avoid being charged for damage at the end of your contract.
• Add the Estate Patrol number to your phone in case of emergencies or if you get locked out when Reception is closed (01392 723999).
• Bookmark the Accommodation and Residence Life Team websites and follow the social channels for helpful info and events.
• Read the fire notice in your accommodation and download the My番茄视频 and SafeZone apps.
• Download the Washstation laundry app.
• If you have a bike, register and tag it at Reception. Find out how to keep your bike secure on the Estate Patrol website.

It can take time to settle into your new life at University. If you are finding living in your accommodation difficult, the Residence Life Team can help. Book an appointment through their  or email them at residencelife@exeter.ac.uk.

Don't forget to register with the Student Health Centre or a local doctors surgery so that you can access medical support. 

• The friendly Estate Patrol team provide a 24/7 security and safeguarding service, including advice and free products to help with your personal safety. Contact the team on 01392 723999.
• They can help with issues like arranging for emergency repairs, or helping if you are locked out.
• Stay safe by locking windows and doors when you leave your building, by using the Safer Walking Routes on campus and downloading the free SafeZone app.
• Read our Campus Safety Guide for tips and advice on how to stay safe on campus and when out and about.

• Check the notices around your residence for fire alarm testing times and assembly point locations.
• If the alarm sounds outside of testing times, evacuate the building to the fire assembly point.
• Avoid setting the fire alarm off accidentally- see our Fire Safety information. 
• Watch this important on fire safety.
• Some internal doors are alarmed, especially at East Park, and shouldn't be used as exits, except in an emergency. It's a disciplinary offence to set the alarm off deliberately.

Clean and tidy surroundings will have a positive effect on your university experience, so why not get into the habit of cleaning as you go, especially in communal and shared spaces? 

• Find out when your accommodation is cleaned and what is expected of you on the Cleaning Commitment poster in your residence or on the Cleaning webpage.

• If you're unsure how to use any of the cleaning or kitchen equipment in your accommodation, ask your cleaning staff or at your residence reception.
