This major new research project is exploring the archaeology of ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ through re-examining material excavated in the 1970s and 1980s using scientific techniques that were not available at the time. The aim is to explore the development of ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ from a Roman fortress and city, through to its emergence as a major medieval trading centre.
